Global TMT Equities Analyst (Sub PM potential), Global Multi Strategy HF - Hong Kong

A leading global multi-strategy hedge fund is seeking a talented and driven Equities Analyst to join a highly experienced and proven investment team based in Hong Kong. The role will focus on generating long and short investment ideas across Technology, Media and Telecom sectors globally with a focus on APAC, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to portfolio construction and, over time, take on broader investment responsibility.

About the Role

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced analyst to work alongside a senior Portfolio Manager on a global mandate. The strategy is fundamentally driven, research-intensive and concentrated, with a strong emphasis on original idea generation, deep fundamental work and differentiated insights. The role also offers clear progression toward a Sub PM track for candidates who demonstrate strong performance and leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities

•Generate actionable long and short investment ideas across global/APAC TMT sectors, supported by detailed financial models and deep fundamental research

•Perform in-depth analysis of business models, competitive positioning, and long-term industry trends

•Conduct ongoing monitoring of coverage universe and portfolio holdings, including earnings calls and management meetings

•Develop differentiated views through expert calls, proprietary research and engagement with the broader investment ecosystem

•Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager on sizing, risk management, and portfolio construction

•Evaluate new coverage areas and contribute to the refinement of the investment process

Ideal Candidate Profile

•5–10 years of experience in equity research or fundamental investing, ideally with exposure to TMT sectors (either covering TMT or Global Markets)

•Demonstrated ability to build detailed financial models and assess valuation and business quality

•Global mindset and understanding of regional dynamics across the US, Europe and Asia

•Proven track record of generating or supporting high-conviction investment ideas

•Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate views clearly and debate constructively

•Self-starter with high intellectual curiosity and an ownership mentality

•Open to candidates from both buy-side and sell-side backgrounds
