Location: Hong Kong

Client: Greater China Long-Only Equity Fund

Compensation: USD 120K–150K Total Compensation (flexibility for tenured profiles)

Language Requirement: Fluent in Mandarin and English

Overview

Our client is a respected, independently owned long-only equity fund focused on Greater China markets, with a strong institutional investor base and a consistent track record of performance. With AUM nearing USD 600 million and a core investment team that has remained stable since inception, the firm has weathered challenging market conditions while maintaining long-term client relationships across the U.S., Europe, and Australia.

The team is now seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Investor Relations & Business Development Associate or Senior Associate to join their Hong Kong office. This is a lean and impactful role working directly with the firm’s Portfolio Manager and Head of Investor Relations, with exposure across IR strategy, client communication, fundraising preparation, and firm-level initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of investor relations and reporting, including quarterly reports, investor letters, RFPs/DDQs, presentation materials, and ad hoc analysis.

  • Help manage communication and relationship-building with a high-quality LP base including U.S. endowments, EU family offices, and Australian superannuation funds.

  • Coordinate and participate in regular investor calls globally.

  • Assist with business development initiatives, including market mapping, materials preparation, and prospective investor outreach.

  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager and Head of IR on firm-wide initiatives, including investor communication strategy, internal operations, and fundraising readiness.

  • Contribute to a small and highly collaborative team, with flexibility to take on wider responsibilities as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5–8 years of total professional experience, with 2–5 years specifically in investor relations, capital raising, or client-facing roles within asset management, hedge funds, or private equity.

  • Fluent in Mandarin for internal discussions and investor communications.

  • Strong writing, presentation, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and credibly with institutional investors.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on attitude – comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving environment.

  • Maturity and reliability to independently manage investor communications, calls, and deadlines.

  • Preference for candidates with stable career progression and clear motivation for an IR-focused role.

What This Role Offers

  • Join a top-tier Greater China long-only fund with a differentiated track record and stable investor base.

  • Work alongside senior leadership with real responsibility and visibility across both IR and business development.

  • Exposure to U.S. and European institutional investors, with a manageable but impactful schedule (2–4 night calls per week to be expected).

  • Enjoy better work-life balance than traditional banking roles, while maintaining a high-performance, investment-centric culture.

  • Competitive compensation with flexibility for stronger candidates.

Interview Process

  • Initial interview with Director of IR

  • Case study (completed over a weekend or a few days) focusing on fund terms, structure, and IR judgment

  • Final interview with the Portfolio Manager
